17th January 2012

Great news - I have an additional contract at work for six months from March, plus I've got an extra two days' work guaranteed in February, starting my training etc.  It's not as if I've been short of work, but having an additional contract is better for things like pension contributions and holidays.  I feel very proud of myself, because I've been given this new job (which is different from what I'm already doing) not on the basis of an interview which lasted 50 minutes, but on the basis of my managers knowing me and being pleased with my work.  I'm also looking forward to working with the guy who's already there because I get the impression we'll have a good laugh together.

I am not particularly looking forward to the training because I feel as I've had brain overload in recent months, but it can't be any harder than the stuff I've already had to learn.

It's now later today, and I have just had dreadful news.  Syndol is either in short supply, or no longer available at all.  This is the ONLY THING that gives me any relief from a migraine and tension headaches.  I will not be able to function without it.  That perhaps sounds overly dramatic, but those who have seen me whimpering in a dark room or hunched over the toilet throwing up with the pain will understand.  I don't get headaches every day, but often enough that I'd never leave the house without my Syndol.
